ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds” Las Vegas tribute show keeps going strong in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
More than just being one of the best-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In January 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences throughout the world through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Alexa “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show Las Vegas VIP experience June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
